Family Hubs Branding

Branding designs for Family and Youth Hubs in East Sussex.

During a 12 month contract working closely with East Sussex County Council, we designed a vibrant, modern and recognisable visual identity for both physical and virtual Family Hubs.

The branding project included in-person focus groups, online and offline research, liaising with over 500 members of East Sussex families, carers and young people; gathering valuable feedback and direction.

We wanted to deliver a design that was slightly different for both families and youth communities, because although they receive support from the same team at East Sussex County Council, the reality is they are very different audiences.

Printed items

The Family Hub branding works very well on real world physical items such as t-shirts and banners showcased above, and also stickers and staff lanyards as showcased below.

Individual Youth Branding

The Family Hub branding is aimed at parents, carers and making under 5’s feel welcome. Extending this branding to youth audiences is inappropriate.

With that in mind we designed the youth version of the logo to be one gender neutral colour and selected an entirely different font. We feel these changes make for a more grown-up, sophisticated brand identity.

The branding that Alex has designed for us is perfect for our communities and we can't wait to see it rolled out over the coming months.
