FIDI Dubrovnik 2025

Welcome to your brand concepts for Dubrovnik 2025

Introduction.

Dubrovnik, the Pearl of the Adriatic, is a beautiful city with a rich history.

From the off-white medieval limestone of the UNESCO World Heritage designated Old Town, to the hand made roof tiles and glistening Adriatic waters, dotted with islands large and small, Dubrovnik is a beautiful, breathtaking and individual location for the FIDI Conference.

With that in mind, we want to create a beautiful and individual design for the event, amplifying the location to your members from the first social media post, to the moment they arrive and beyond.

Overview

The colours of Dubrovnik’s coast are a mixture of orange handmade roof tiles (kupe kanalice), blue Adriatic waters, off-white sands and polished cream limestone.

These colours work really well together, especially as the blues and oranges can pop from the off-white background.

For 2025 we want to introduce more iconography for the team to use.

It can help with wayfinding, as well as give a visual aide to specific landmarks and activities.

The subtle but interesting background pattern, gives breathing space to some bold logo and icon design.

It also allows Missing Link to use coloured lighting if available, further theming the event with beams of blue and orange light.

One colour Fidi logo

An area I feel needs discussing with your Directors and Leadership Team, is the FIDI logo colours. As you will see in the below designs, we have shown how the FIDI logo can work with the brand colours of the event.

If we are able to use the FIDI logo in this way it increases our ability to use varied colour schemes without them clashing with the logo.

It is worth noting that we are not suggesting the FIDI logo is recoloured outside of this specific situation, only when it is placed within the event branding. For example if the FIDI logo feature in event documentation outside of sitting alongside the Dubrovnik logo lockup, then it is in the corporate colours.

We are happy to be guided by you and it is not the end of the world if the logo clashes a little, but we always want to be the supplier who makes suggestions that will polish the event design to the highest level.

Concept 1a

This theme uses intricate or repeating icon shapes with a vivid gradient that gives an almost raised, shiny appearance.

4 chosen icons can sit within a chunky D shape that extends this theme from logo, to slides, online and offline promo materials.

Concept 1b

Although you could argue this sub-concept is less stylised, moving away from the gradient makes it easier to create varied icons because it can work with chunky, simple designs as well the intricate ones.

It is also easier to see and make out, but concept 1a is meant to make people want to look closer. There is no wrong choice, it’s about personal preference and whether you want something very different.

Concept 2

As a completely different main logo, we could lean towards the renaissance architecture of Dubrovnik, and go with something very ornate.

I love the beauty of this logo and know it can work well for the event, however if this concept is appealing to FIDI for Dubrovnik, I would want to spend more time refining and linking up the icons in some way.

Summary

I really hope you like the nods towards such a fabulous location, the geometric 3D background inspired by the pale limestone, the colour palette and custom iconography.

Although these visuals are working designs, I believe they are enough to know what direction is best for FIDI or feedback with any questions or opinions.

Once we all know the direction to spend time on, myself and my team will be creating a wide suite of designs for you and your partners to use, each will be proofed with your marketing and leadership team.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to your feedback.
